when you’re going a little crazy…
Well, after 13 long months it’s finally here. Real Jared is scheduled to fly in tomorrow and we are all on pins and needles around here. It’s been a very busy few weeks, and it was easier to just forget about this blog rather than try to post something worthwhile ![]()
So, until I can get around to posting about something else, here are some pictures my sister in law took of their 4th of July with Flat Jared…

I wish I would have come back here sooner. I would have come out to greet our hero home.
Please tell him from me:
Thank You for serving and Welcome Home!!!

I just came across your blog, my husband recently deployed and we are expecting our first son in June. I’m considering ordering a flat daddy just to hang near his crib or to bring out for him to see in the first nine months of his life. Do you think this would be helpful? Did you like the flat daddy experience?

Ashleigh,
Absolutely! My daughter was just shy of a year when my husband left for Iraq and having a Flat Daddy made a huge impact on their relationship. Her first word was Daddy and she wasn’t scared of him when he came home because she was already used to seeing him everywhere we went. Having a life size picture is so much different for a small child then seeing a wallet photo and then trying to figure out who this HUGE person is standing in front of them. Not only will it help your son, it will bring you a little comfort to have “your husband” nearby when you just really need to talk or have a good cry. It sounds crazy, I know, but it can give you a tiny bit of comfort and sometimes that tiny bit is just enough to help you make it through the day.
I hope this has helped. You and your family will be in our thoughts, we wish you all the best. Hang in there!
